Ignite! was set up in October 2006 to promote creativity in learning. Ignite! works with young people to reveal and develop their capacity for creativity and creative thinking.

After returning from Africa, Ignite! took me under their wing, providing me with a Creative Partner - Mark Champkins, from Concentrate, who was recently seen on Dragons Den and a mentor; William Akerman from Speakeasy4schools.

I am so lucky to have the support of Ignite! and its fantastic team and have benefited a huge amount from working with them.

According to the Household Survey 2005, when it comes to thinking about starting a business, 16 – 24 year olds are by far the keenest age group and as the 2006 Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) demonstrated, providing training and education has a dramatic and positive effect on attitudes toward enterprise. In order to nurture this enterprising spirit and offer advice to young creative individuals, the British Library put together a remarkable panel of young entrepreneurs, all of whom have created highly successful businesses in their teens.

You're never too young to start a business, they say. The British Library brings together a remarkable group of young entrepreneurs, each of whom has started a highly successful venture in their teens. Among the speakers will be the award-winning 20-year-old inventor Emily Cummins and Fraser Doherty, who launched his successful jam-making business at 14.
